It's September! I just can't believe it. The time is literally flying by so fast I feel like!
Ok So this past week was pretty great! It rained a lot and now we are in another heat wave :/ So pray we got more rain!
Tuesday was fun because we got to tract in the rain. I told Sister Roth that I had heard if you tract in the rain than people will be more likely to let you in. Ha.... Well we tested it and that is definitely not true. At least in Southern Utah. But people were generally nice and we did find a nonmember that isn't interested in the church but is going to let us pull her weeds this week so hopefully we will be able to build that relationship with her and she will be willing to listen more.
Can I just say service is so great!? We do so much out here. Pulling weeds is getting kind of therapeutic but don't get any ideas. I'm sure in 14 months I will be done with pulling weeds for a long time. But there are just so many success stories of service. Even if we don't see the success right away, every little seed we plant is so great! I love it!
That night we headed out to Colorado City, and saw the usual CO City folk. So we went and saw Charlotte and Marvin again. Which was really interesting. We asked them questions about their priesthood and how they think Adam is God and other random questions.. We also asked him what he thought was going to happen to us since we don't practice polygamy and he read from their Book of Mormon and said we are going to be damned. But he truly felt so sorry for us. He kept apologizing over and over again. But we were able to tell them about what we believed but they is just no changing their mind on plural marriage. It's difficult. We also saw the Cook family, but didn't get anywhere with them. She was trying to get the kids ready for bed and finish up their homework so we weren't really able to talk with them.
So that night we stayed in Cane Beds and the next morning we tracted with Bishop and Sister Adair. They are having a Dutch Over Party this weekend so we got to help hand out flyers for that. Because that area is not the best we were given walkie taklies so Bishop would check on us every few minutes or so. Have I told you about Cane Beds at all? Well apparently that is where people go to escape from the government so probably not the best place. But we are safe there. No worries mom ;) After we spent time there we headed back to Fredonia had some less active lessons there and then on to Kanab. We met with Connor again and brought him to mutual. And he had such a good time. We felt like his little mothers. He made friends in the wards! So great!
Thursday we had DTM in Hurricane and Sister Roth and I had to teach :/ But it was on service! Yay! So I think it went pretty well. We also met with a girl named Michelle that night! There has been like 4 referrals for her the past 5 months and she has just been so busy with summer so we were finally able to meet with her this week! And she agreed to keep meeting! She is 16 and taking seminary! Right? Ah so perfect!
We also went to a Relief Society Garden Party that night and got to talk with some non members and less actives that came so it was successful!
Then we went and met with Greg after and the members who we usually have the lessons home at were out of town so we had to have it at the house he lives in, with some non members! Perfect right? So they sat in on the lesson! It was so great! And we committed Greg to bear his testimony on Sunday and then he invited them to church! And guess what!? They all came and Greg bore his testimony!!!!!!!! It was so amazing!
That evening we had an exchange, except it was a little different. The sisters just joined us, so we were in a trio for Friday. And guess what? She is from Mesa. Sister Larsen! It was fun to have another Mesan! ;) Haha so Friday we just tracted and then headed out to Cane Beds. We stayed the night there and the Saturday morning we tracted in Moccasin. That was only my second time out there so it was cool.. Not very may people were home. Kind of a bummer but we are going back tomorrow so hopefully we will catch more people then.
Yesterday was a good Pday. We were able to "tour" around town and just hang out in Kanab. It was super busy because of Labor Day but that made people watching fun!
Overall I would say it was a pretty great week though! The Robinsons are still on date for September 14th and we got a new investigator! Yaayyy!
Well hope all is well! Love you all!
